Need some spray touch up for my dad’s Mazda. Anybody have some advice about brands? We are going to get one of those proper paint sprayers, so we can do body work and repaints. Thanks.

I’ve had good luck using www.paintscratch.com. Paint matched perfectly both times.

Don’t worry about brand, it’s all just paint. Just buy whatever fits the budget and use it according to directions. Sherwin Wiliams/Martin Senour (Napa sells Martin Senour, it’s the same stuff) tends to fall in the less expensive category.
Most every brand has at least two offerings...one considered budget. Just be prepared, automotive paint ain’t cheap.

Cheap stuff like Omni and Martin Senior work well. No reason to spend more than those cost unless you’re doing this professionally.

Omni was what I was going to recommend. I’ve used it plenty of times. It gives very good results and is extremely cheap to buy.
Omni paint, Napa clear has been my recipe for a while now.
The key to a good looking paint job is more prep before paint, proper mixing, then care after paint.

Automotive paint is cheap. Omni brand paint + supplies + Napa clear/hardener = Painting a car for under $500 every time.

Omni paint, Napa clear has been my recipe for a while now.
The key to a good looking paint job is more prep before paint, proper mixing, then care after paint. A good wet sand/buff after painting can make almost any paint job look like glass.

Omni is PPG’s budget brand, so it can be cheaper. I don’t recommend mixing brands as it can create adhesion issues among other things.

Exactly. Good call on the Napa clear. Omni clear is fine, but the Napa one is easier to get a nice result out of.

I’ve had very good results from those 2.
Usually I don’t even have to bother with wet sanding and buffing.

We’ve been using the Omni/Napa combo for years without issue. Usually when laid right it doesn’t even require wet sanding or buffing.
The Napa brand clear is supposed to be compatible with just about everything.

That is one thing I don’t think I’ve ever done, knocks on wood, and I’m one that sprays for shine when laying clear. ;)

Lucky you! I’ve got a knack for it! There’s a reason I don’t do body work often. My end results are usually pretty good, but it takes me some effort to get there.

Been doing it since I was 15, so I have almost 2 decades of experience.
Helps that I enjoy doing body work.
